On arrival, you will meet our representative and transferred to your hotel in Tirana.

Lively, colourful Tirana is where this tiny nation's hopes and dreams coalesce into a vibrant whirl of traffic, brash consumerism, and unfettered fun. Having undergone a transformation of extraordinary proportions since awaking from its communist slumber in the early 1990s, Tirana's centre is now unrecognisable from those grey days, with buildings painted in primary colours, and public squares and pedestrianised streets that are a pleasure to wander.

DAY 2  : HALF DAY TIRANA CITY TOUR (SHARING)                                                                                      

After breakfast, get ready for your city tour of Tirana.

Explore the historic and architectural evolution of Tirana, which features a dynamic and rich history as it moved from a small rural and trade center in the 17th century into the main capital of Albania, the cultural hub with fascinating traces of ancient ruins, diverse flora of Ottoman, Italian, Communist era architecture, and buildings.

The walking tour includes visit to the new promenade, approaching the Byzantine ruins and walls, reaching the main Italian boulevard, with the view of the Art Gallery and the distinguished Italian buildings, Tirana City Hall, Statue of Skanderbeg, Ethem Bey Mosque, Skanderbeg statue, Clock Tower, National Library and Opera House and the mosaic “Albanians” on top of the entrance of National Historical Museum. Stroll along the main Boulevard, visiting the most important squares and close the visit by Kalaja e Tirana where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine, a coffee or a sweet.

Rest of the evening is free to explore on your own.

Tirana, the capital of Albania, is known for its colourful Ottoman-, Fascist- and Soviet-era architecture. Pastel buildings surround the city's focal point, Skanderbeg Square, which is named for its equestrian statue of a national hero. On the square's north end is the modernist National History Museum, covering prehistoric times through Communist rule and the anti-Communist uprisings of the 1990s.
